The Chamber has several volunteer committees, one of which is the Education Committee.
The mission of the Education Committee is to create proactive partnerships between local providers of education and the business community, thereby contributing to the attractiveness of Collier County as a place to live and work.
Below are local education organizations the Education Committee has partnered with to link the business community to those who nurture our most precious resource: the leaders of tomorrow.

The Education Foundation of Collier County, founded in 1990, is an independent not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to enhance learning for Collier County children and their teachers by engaging community support. Having begun with just a single program, The Education Foundation’s initiatives have evolved to support recruitment, retention, and recognition of excellent teachers and principals, and programs designed for individual student success—all within a larger community-wide framework to support education.
The Education Foundation has earned the highest 4-star rating for sound fiscal management from Charity Navigator. To get involved, call 643-4755 or visit: www.EducationForCollier.org. To help a teacher bring unique experiences to their students, visit www.ConnectWithAClassroom.org, click on “invest in a student project,” and browse and select projects to support and grant a teacher’s wish!

Everyday heroes looking to inspire and prepare young people
to be successful in a local and global society.
Junior Achievement worldwide is a partnership between the business community, educators and volunteers. JA’s hands-on, experimental programs teach the key concepts of work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy to young people.
Business executives teach the economic lessons while fostering leadership and business ethics. This is done through interactive activities in our local classrooms, 1 hour a week for 5-7 weeks. We need your help of reaching our goal of 9,500 students! By donating 7 hours, you can change a child’s life.

The mission of the Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology and Technical High School is to provide rigorous and relevant educational experiences that prepare all students with both the academic and technical skills necessary to succeed in their chosen career and in further postsecondary education.
The Lorenzo Walker campus, a postsecondary program that is part of Collier County Public Schools, provides technical and academic instruction in high demand occupations to both adults and high school students; therefore, we actively seek to forge partnerships with business and industry. We believe that by doing so, we can more closely align our offerings with local employment opportunities.
Our vision is that all students will graduate with certifications and skills to obtain positions in their chosen career field and/or be fully prepared for additional postsecondary education. For additional information on how you may become involved at Lorenzo Walker in such areas as Customized Business Training for your present employees, co-op, internship and externship, part-time or full-time employment needs contact Brenda Kerstetter, (239) 377-0940 or kerstebr@collier.k12.fl.us.
