Wilma Boyd Receives Key to the City After Providing the Key to the World for 25 Years
The Honorable Mayor Bill Barnett presented Preferred Travel of Naples President and CEO Wilma Boyd with a key to the city of Naples, and a proclamation declaring February 10th “Wilma Boyd Day.” The Mayor’s presentation took place in front of more than 250 people attending Preferred Travel of Naples 25th anniversary celebration, A Silver Signature Event. According to the proclamation, Boyd received the special surprise recognition because of her “leadership in the community and her donation of time and resources to numerous charitable organizations.”
True to Preferred Travel’s commitment to community, the anniversary celebration and travel showcase raised funds for the Neighborhood Health Clinic. The Neighborhood Health Clinic is a non-profit organization that delivers medical care to low-income, working but uninsured Collier County adults. Each week the Clinic treats more than 150 patients. The Clinic is funded solely by the community through private donations, the United Way, foundation grants, businesses, religious groups and civic organizations.
More than 30 of Preferred Travel of Naples’ travel partners from throughout the world presented travel selections from luxury cruises to adventure travel and much more at the event. According to Boyd, “The past 25 years have been a great journey. We look forward to the voyage ahead as we continue to fulfill our commitment to our clients and to our community.”
