This is presented to a business with the potential to make a big impact on Collier County’s economic future. This company demonstrates significant growth trends since its opening and exhibits excellence in the areas of management, marketing, customer service and integrity. The recipient must be a new business that has been in operations for more than a year, but less than eight years.
HEART OF THE COMMUNITY
An award presented to a local nonprofit that exemplifies superior service to the community. An organization that has distinguished itself from others by enhancing the community through financial, volunteer and active involvement in organizations and programs that assist in the creation of a better quality of life for all citizens in Collier County.
This honor is given to a company that has been in business in Collier County for a minimum of 20 years and has taken an active role in making Collier County the best place to live and do business.
YOUNG PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
This award is given to a young professional between the ages of 21 and 40 who has demonstrated leadership and a passion for making a difference in the community.
Welcome our Keynote Speaker CFO Alex Sink
Alex Sink served as Florida’s Chief Financial Officer from 2007 to 2011. As one of four statewide elected officials, she was responsible for the state's treasury and accounting functions, served as a trustee for the state pension fund, directed the insurance consumer advocacy work along with serving as Chair of Florida Healthy Kids (S Chip program) among many other responsibilities. Prior to elected office, Alex had a 26-year career at Bank of America, where she was Florida President from 1993 to 2000.
Sink’s previous public corporate board service includes Sykes Corporation, Raymond James Financial, and C1Bank. She currently serves on the board of Verger Capital, a private manager of endowment funds.
Her extensive nonprofit service includes serving as past board chair of United Way Suncoast, Leadership Florida, Take Stock in Children, Hillsborough Education Foundation, and The Nature Conservancy (Florida Chapter). She is a life trustee at Wake Forest University and is the incoming board chair of the Tampa Wave, a tech startup accelerator. Additionally, Alex serves on the United Way Worldwide Leadership Council, Junior Achievement Board, and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Board.
