Public Policy Priorities

The Greater Naples Chamber recognizes strong economic sustainability, practices that support long-term economic growth without negatively impacting social, environmental, and cultural aspects of the community, as a vital component for our community to thrive.

We support legislation, statutes, ordinances, and referendums created at all levels of government that support the growth and strengthening of economic opportunities for all our members.

We advocate for methods and initiatives designed to produce long-term economic growth and prosperity by focusing on the following public policy matters important to our members and overall community:

Economic Opportunity

We believe a thriving economy is built on innovation, entrepreneurship and a business climate that supports sustainable growth. To achieve these goals, we support:

• Small business development and entrepreneurship
• A streamlined, predictable regulatory environment
• Investment in innovation, emerging industries and business relocation or expansion
• Equitable access to resources and opportunities that strengthen our economic base

Education & Workforce Development

We believe education and workforce development are the foundation of economic opportunities and long-term community prosperity. To build and sustain a stronger talent pipeline, we support:

• Expanded access to affordable, high-quality childcare and early learning
• Career and technical education, apprenticeship and work-based learning opportunities
• Partnerships between educators and employers that align training with workforce needs
• Upskilling and retraining opportunities through local initiatives

Environmental Stewardship

We believe protecting our natural resources is essential to preserving and sustaining our local economy. To ensure responsible growth and long-term resilience, we support:

• Policies that balance economic development with environmental stewardship
• Strategic investments to mitigate coastal flooding, red tide and blue-green algae
• Initiatives that preserve beaches, restore the Everglades and promote sustainable land use planning that aligns with our community's needs
• Resiliency efforts that protect infrastructure, businesses and the quality of life for future generations

Healthcare

We believe that access to affordable, high-quality healthcare is vital to a strong workforce and thriving community. To promote community health and well-being, we support:

• Expanded access to comprehensive healthcare services for all residents
• Mental and behavioral health initiatives and community-based wellness programs
• Healthcare workforce development opportunities to meet local and regional demand
• Access to affordable insurance for our employers and their employees

Infrastructure and Resiliency

We believe modern, resilient infrastructure is the backbone of economic growth, public safety and quality of life. To ensure our infrastructure meets future needs and maintains public safety, we support:

• Adequate funding for transportation, water and broadband infrastructure
• Investments in resiliency and disaster preparedness
• Smart growth strategies that align with population and workforce needs
• Policies that maintain Collier County's reputation as one of the safest communities in America

Tourism

We believe tourism is a cornerstone of our regional economy and a reflection of our community's unique character. To protect and enhance this key economic driver, we support:

• Responsible use of local tourism development tax dollars
• Marketing and promotional efforts through Visit Florida and local initiatives
• Investment in cultural institutions and sustainable tourism efforts

Workforce Housing

We believe access to affordable housing is essential for employers to attract and retain a stable, skilled workforce. To address the housing challenges facing our workforce, we support:

• Incentives for workforce and mixed-income housing near employment centers
• Public-private partnerships that increase the housing supply
• Zoning and land use policies that expand housing affordability and accessibility
