SNIP Collier Awarded $25,000 Grant from Bailey and Friends to Expand Low Cost Veterinary Services
SNIP Collier, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving animal welfare through low-cost veterinary care, rescue, and advocacy is honored to announce it has received a grant of $25,000 from Bailey and Friends, a restricted fund of the Golisano Foundation, to fund essential medical equipment for SNIP Collier’s new Immokalee clinic, helping expand access to critical veterinary care for animals in need. Bailey and Friends is dedicated to supporting animal welfare in Western New York and Southwest Florida with a focus on dogs and cats.

Their support over the years has played an important role in helping us grow our impact and reach more animals and families in need. This grant will help us expand the low-cost veterinary services available at our Immokalee clinic and continue addressing the tremendous need in this community. We are deeply grateful to Bailey and Friends for continuing to stand alongside SNIP as we work to create lasting change for animals throughout Collier County.
While SNIP Collier serves animals and families throughout Collier County, Immokalee remains a critical focus of the organization’s work. The rural agricultural community is home to approximately 28,000 residents and has a poverty rate of approximately 27%—nearly three times the Collier County rate—creating significant barriers to accessing affordable veterinary care. The area also faces a severe pet overpopulation crisis, with an estimated 25,000 or more stray and free-roaming animals. To establish a permanent presence in the community, SNIP secured a 55-year lease for $1 per year for its Immokalee campus. The newly opened clinic allows SNIP to provide affordable spay and neuter surgeries, vaccinations, wellness services, and other veterinary care while expanding its ability to address pet overpopulation at its source. Future phases of the campus will further expand medical services and create dedicated space for humane education and community outreach.

SNIP Collier is a grassroots, boots-on-the-ground nonprofit dedicated to ending the suffering and neglect of dogs and cats caused by pet overpopulation. Founded by Tom Kepp and powered by volunteers, SNIP began as one man’s mission and has grown into a vital community resource serving thousands of animals and families throughout Collier County.
Since becoming a registered 501(c)(3) in 2015, SNIP has opened its first low-cost veterinary clinic in Naples, launched a fully equipped mobile veterinary unit, and most recently opened a low-cost full-service clinic in Immokalee. To date, SNIP has spayed and neutered more than 20,800 dogs and cats and rescued more than 2,000 animals. Today, its work extends beyond affordable veterinary care to include the Helping Paws Medical Fund, TNR, rescue, foster and adoption programs, and Animal Justice Advocacy—all working together to address both the immediate needs and root causes of animal suffering in the community.
SNIP Collier is incredibly grateful for the longstanding support of Bailey and Friends and the Golisano Foundation. In November 2024, Tom Golisano made a transformational $1.5 million gift to SNIP—the largest award to a Collier County organization through his 2024 philanthropic initiative. This extraordinary and continued investment has helped SNIP grow while remaining true to our grassroots, boots-on-the-ground approach to creating a better future for the animals of Collier County.
